Nutrition Program for Older Adults Living Alone
Community nutrition programs are essential for older adults living alone and financially at risk. This LaSalle IL Senior Lunch Program provides nutritious meals and opportunities for socialization and volunteering in local community settings in LaSalle and Bureau Counties.
Congregate meal sites are available to senior citizens aged 60 and over, their spouses, and others who qualify. There are three congregate luncheon sites in LaSalle County where seniors can enjoy a meal, socialize with others, and catch up on the day’s news. At times throughout the month, some sites participate in activities such as bingo, birthday celebrations, holiday get together, and informational and community presentations.
Reservations for a meal are recommended in advance. Participants are provided an opportunity to donate the cost of the meal. No senior looking to join the LaSalle IL Senior Lunch Program will be denied a meal due to unwillingness or inability to contribute.
