TransVAC in DeKalb County offers transportation services primarily within DeKalb County and some locations beyond the county borders. TransVAC concentrates on fulfilling rural transportation needs involving origins or destinations outside urban areas. The service caters to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and the general public based on space and availability.

The service caters to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and the general public based on space and availability. We are committed to offering courteous, safe, and reliable service for all riders regardless of race, gender, age, or disability.
Registration
All riders must be registered for TransVAC of DeKalb County Dial-A-Ride services.

SCHEDULE A RIDE
Trips can be reserved between two and 14 days in advance. Priority in trip scheduling is given to individuals with disabilities and seniors based on space and availability.

Please note:
- Cash fare must be the exact amount.
- Drivers do not handle cash and will not make changes or issue vouchers.
Children
When transporting children, all Illinois child safety-seat laws must be followed. To learn more about these laws, please call VAC or visit the Illinois Department of State website. VAC does not provide child safety seats, nor are VAC drivers allowed to fasten these seats. All riders must provide child safety seats to ride if required.
ASSISTANCE
TransVAC in DeKalb County operators are trained to take a wheelchair up or down one step by themselves. A travel assistant is required when a rider’s needs are beyond the driver’s responsibility. One travel assistant may ride at no charge.

Illinois Relay is a FREE service that allows people who are Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, Speech-Disabled, or Deaf-Blind to place and receive calls to standard telephone users via a keyboard or assistive device.
